My Panerai Journey

This blog is dedicated to my journey with Panerai watches. My love/hate relationship with the brand and to my personal experience learning about, and wearing, Panerai watches.

I have been following the brand for many years. I was able to afford my first Panerai, the PAM 00233, in 2013 only to sell it a few years later. Then came the PAM 00721 in early 2018. This one was sold as well. On both accounts buying an expensive watch when money was tight was not a great idea.

Nowadays I have a nice collection. I am a 47mm guy, and most of my collection is about 47mm. My focus had been on historically accurate (we can argue about that) Radiomir watches. I also have a few Submersibles and Luminors and that is also where I have sinned owning a few 44mm pieces.

The brand’s history always attracted me. Not the one some would like you to believe is, but the actual one. There are a lot of fascinating details about it. This is one of the reasons I have acquired different books about the brand and spent time researching online about the pieces I have bought.

In recent years, and as the brand kinda lost its appeal to many, the number of resources following the brand, or providing useful information, has been on the decline. Most of the YouTube videos are of dealers trying to sell watches, and most of what is being written is mostly marketing oriented. I would like to try and change some of that.
